Rainy Day in June

Wow! It' is June 17th! It's been so long since I've posted anything at all. Quite honestly I am so intimidated by all the wonderful blogs that I visit that it seems silly to even try. But try I will.
I have joined a wonderful artists community called Milliande Creativity Club. There is wonderful artwork to be viewed, tutorial videos to be watched and all kinds of interactive opportunities for inspiration. Be sure to visit it when you can and consider joining the community, it is quite diverse.

This is a photo of an inner page of a Flap book class I did last year sometime. I used glimmer mists for creating papers, and adirondack dabber resist technique on the tag. This flap book featured a 9 patch inchie "quilt" on the front as well as single inchies throughout the book. It was a really fun class.
Consider yourself tagged if you like.

Guess what?

It's so nice to have a photo of Jim and I together. So often when we go on vacation or any day trip we get photos of me or Jim since one of us has to hold the camera. So it's nice to get a photo of us together. There actually is evidence that we were together at some time! (o;
A mother and daughter, from the US of course, stopped us and asked us to take their photo together in front of the Eiffel tower and so they returned the favour. We were fortunate to have someone do that for us at Giverny too.

Return from Paris

Well we're back from Paris and I'm trying to figure out how to get back to life here in Madison, VA. Actually I'd rather make life here on the farm a bit different. Better utilized time, both in maintenance as well as creatively speaking. I'm excited about the idea of creativity but need it to turn into excitement over what I've created. I took way too many photos of our trip to Paris. Most of the photos I took I had collage in mind. Whether it was for color, subject matter, design images as well as visual textures. I will attempt to load some of the images to this posting. Wish me luck or better yet, some skill. (o;
Hopefully you can guess what these images came from. We were in Paris you know. So it seems this blog this is not too difficult to manage. I actually got the pictures posted. I'll write more later. Best to all!

Overdue Post

Well here is post #2! I can't believe I started this blog in Feb.!? and this is only my second post. But that is a pretty accurate look into my life. Lots of fry pans over hot fires and I'm always working to keep from burning something. Maybe posting to a blog will help me to realize some order and discipline in my life. I just had a shudder, discipline, ewww. Well I hear lots of people benefit from discipline, maybe I should give it a try. (o:
I can't believe it but Monday Jim and I leave for Paris! I barely speak 2 words of french. Well at least the french will have great amusement at my ridiculous attempts to use their beautiful language.

Pony report: Well we had the fall show for the Virginia Welsh Pony and Cob Association. The breed classes were held on Saturday and it rained all day courtesy of Hurricane Ike. Thankfully the rain was not hardcore torrential and the winds were cery civilized. The ponies were all very well behaved and looked lovely all slicked down from the weather. I was amazed at how tolerant all the handlers and ponies were inspite of all the rain. What great sports! Thanks to all who attended.

Creatively speaking, I have been enjoying using my new melting pot, beeswax along with my beloved decorative napkins as I experiment creating collages. What a wonderful medium. I've also been hugely benefitting from Youtube video's using beeswax as well as other mixed media. My next goal is to take some photos of my work and posting them here on the blog. I will try to get this done before leaving for Europe, who knows how long it will take me to get organized again after the trip. Plus I want to be enlightened enough to be able to share some photos of our trip.
Till then so long for now!

Welcome to my blog!

This is my first posting to my first blog. I hope to be able to keep family, friends and interested parties up to date on what is going on at our farm.

First I can tell you that we have a wedding to plan for May 31st. Our beautful daughter Pamela is getting married to her longtime sweetheart Jacob! We couldn't be happier for them and look forward to wonderful things for their new life together. Currently we are planning on the reception to be here on the farm. So lots of prayers are needed to help up get this farm up and ready for the happy affair!

That's enough for now.

The Lord Reigns!
